Why temperature converts differently
Unlike length or weight, which are linear conversions (multiply by a factor), temperature scales start at a different zero point. That's why converting Celsius to Fahrenheit isn't just multiplication — it also needs an offset (°F = °C × 9/5 + 32) — and Kelvin starts at absolute zero (0 K = −273.15 °C).

- 100 °C (water boiling at sea level) equals 212 °F.
