Split into parts
Hover between two pages and click the scissors: a new file starts there. Each part gets its own color so you can see at a glance which pages go together, and the side panel sums up how many files you'll get and which pages each one holds. In the viewer you can also mark “Split after this page” while you read.
Every N pages
Set how many pages you want per file and the tool splits the document into equal parts (the last one keeps whatever is left). With 1, every page becomes its own file.
Extract or delete pages
Click the thumbnails to pick pages (Shift + click picks a range) or use the “All”, “Odd” and “Even” shortcuts. When extracting, you can merge the chosen pages into one PDF or get each one separately. When deleting, the rest of the document keeps its order and the tool won't let you delete everything.
Several files, one download
When the result is several PDFs they're downloaded together as a ZIP, with names that say which pages each one holds (“report-p1-3.pdf”). That way the browser doesn't block dozens of separate downloads.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read, displayed and split in your browser; it is never sent over the internet.
How do I know where to split?
Every page is shown as a thumbnail, and you can open any of them full screen with zoom and move between pages with the arrow keys. You can mark the split right from the viewer.
How do I write page ranges?
With numbers separated by commas and dashes for ranges: “1-3, 5, 8-10”. Spaces don't matter, and pages are sorted automatically.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. An encrypted PDF, even one with only a permissions password, stores its content encrypted and the tool can't decrypt it, so it warns you instead of producing unreadable files. Remove the protection first with whatever program set it.
Does splitting lose any quality?
No. Pages are copied as-is from the original, without re-compressing text or images.
